The differences lie in below aspects:

1. Raw Material

Genuine Acetate: Made from cellulose acetate fiber (natural plant-based fiber).

Imitation Acetate: Usually made from polyester (PET) with similar appearance, but chemically different.

2. Handfeel & Luster

Genuine Acetate: Soft, smooth, elegant luster, good drapability, breathable.

Imitation Acetate: Slightly stiff or waxy feel, brighter but cheaper luster, poor moisture absorption.

3. Performance

Genuine Acetate: Good heat resistance, antistatic, low pilling, comfortable touch.

Imitation Acetate: Prone to static, easier to pill, lower heat resistance.
